Walk Day Information:
Due to Chicago Park District changes, all parking lots are metered.  JDRF is offering complimentary parking at the Wilson and Foster lots only.  Free parking is first come, first serve.  Free, street parking is still available on Simonds Drive.  The Montrose lot is under construction and will be closed.  PLEASE enter on Montrose and follow the instructions and directions given by the parking volunteers.

The Walk Site is located just north of the intersection of Lawrence Avenue and Simonds Drive. It is on the west side of Simonds Drive.

Public Transportation

The Lakefront Site is within walking distance of several major bus stops. The #151 route stops at Sheridan and Lawrence and the #146 route stops at Marine Drive and Lawrence. There is also a Lawrence Avenue stop on the “el”—red line. Please visit www.transitchicago.com for more information.

Bring your walker collection envelope along with all collected funds, completely filled out with team name, team captain, incentive prize choice and Walk site. Remember, we need a separate envelope for EACH individual who has collected pledges! Additional envelopes will be available at the site to mail any pledges collected after the Walk.

A light lunch will be provided for all walkers; snacks and other refreshments will be available at the checkpoints along the route.

Everyone who raises $100 or more will receive a Walk to Cure Diabetes T-shirt (one shirt per walker)!

Scheduled activities: WGN Radio talent, DJ, Jesse White Tumblers, Moonwalks, children’s games, face painting and more…

Bicycles and roller blades are not permitted.

The Walk will be held rain or shine!

Intersection of Montrose Drive and Simmons Drive

Directions to Montrose Avenue and the Lake:

From the South and/or West:
Take Lake Shore Drive North to Montrose Avenue. At the end of the exit ramp, go right. Montrose Avenue turns into Simonds Drive.

From the Northwest:
Take I-90 east to Irving Park Ave. Go east to Lakeshore Drive. Go north on Lakeshore Drive and exit Montrose Ave. Turn right on Montrose Ave. Montrose Avenue turns into Simonds Drive.

From the North:
Take I-94 south to Peterson. Exit Peterson and go east to Lake Shore Drive. Go South on Lake Shore Drive (Hwy 41). Exit at Montrose Avenue. Go east and Montrose Avenue turns into Simonds Drive.
