Adults with Type 1
From living independently, to relationships and starting a family, to work life, adults with type 1 diabetes face unique challenges. But there are millions of people who are living successfully with the disease. JDRF has produced two toolkits for adults living with type 1 diabetes – one for newly-diagnosed adults, and a second for established adults.
Visit JDRF’s Adults page at www.jdrf.org/adults to download the either edition of the Adult Type 1 Toolkit, and find additional resources and support for all adults living with type 1 diabetes.
These toolkits are part of JDRF’s efforts to broaden its reach to all individuals with type 1 diabetes – children and adults alike. Currently, adults make up approximately 85 percent of those living with type 1 diabetes. And in the United States alone, roughly half of the 30,000 people diagnosed with the disease are adults.
