“This Old Cub,” a documentary on the life of Ron Santo, premiered March 24 at the Chicago Historical Society. The sold-out event, which benefited JDRF, was widely covered by local media.
Directed by his son Jeff, the “This Old Cub” celebrates Santo’s fabled career and chronicles his lifelong battle with diabetes. The film was shot over nine months, as Santo recovered from having his second leg amputated due to complications from diabetes. More information on the DVD.
